This brief document of results reviews some of the findings of the report ¿Qué se espera que aprendan los estudiantes de América Latina y el Caribe? Análisis curricular del Estudio Regional Comparativo y Explicativo (ERCE 2019) (What are students in Latin America and the Caribbean expected to learn? Curriculum Analysis of the Regional Comparative and Explanatory Study (ERCE 2019)) in the light of the targets of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The document provides clues on curriculum trends and challenges in the areas of Language, Mathematics and Sciences and on the presence of concepts of Global Citizenship Education and Education for Sustainable Development in the region’s curriculum documents. The information produced on both aspects is a key input in order to move forward in some of the targets proposed in Sustainable Development Goal 4: “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”.
