Abstract
ASER 2015 is a milestone year in a journey that began in 2008/9 by a group of citizens who came together to make the invisible visible for Pakistan, the plight of learning whether children were in, or out of school. It has created a landmark in nationwide assessments through household based surveys covering all 146 rural and selected 21 urban districts across all provinces. ASER presents a snapshot for education indicators annually as a rigorous exercise over the past six years. Each year the campaign has mobilized and trained more than 10,000 volunteers and interviewed 286,570 children (3-16 years) in 94,550 households.
