Abstract

This summary report presents key findings of a large-scale research report published by the LEGO Foundation, and carried out in collaboration with the University of Sheffield, UK, the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and Dubit Ltd, UK. The aims of the study were to explore the contemporary play environments of children in order to identify the ways in which children’s play is shaped by technology, to examine the relationship between digital play, learning and creativity, and to explore the role of adults in mediating digital play.
