Abstract
This report is the result of a research study that took place from April 2014 - March 2015 in Morocco investigating different aspects of reading instruction. The objective of the analysis provided in this Component 2 was to discover how teachers in training learn to teach reading in the early grades. The basic research questions include: Is reading instruction treated as an implicitly or explicitly taught skill in the training curriculum? Are the methods advocated based on new knowledge about effective teaching of reading in Arabic?
