Abstract
In 2011, Save the Children (SC) began implementing the second year of the Literacy Boost (LB) program. The program, designed to improve reading skills for early grade students, focuses on working with teachers, parents, and community members, as well as providing reading materials, to boost students' reading growth in the Oromia Region of the Dendi District in Ethiopia. This study reports on the characteristics of students who could not be located at endline, as well as the observed difference in learning during the 2011-2012 school year between Literacy Boost and comparison students in 20 schools in Ethiopia.
