Demographic aspects of educational planning

This booklet examines three aspects of demographic analysis of concern to educational planners: (1) the age and sex distribution that enables the planner to measure the size of school-age population, (2) the distribution by economic activity that allows the planner to project manpower requirements, and (3) the geographic distribution that helps him choose the type, size and location of schools.La présente brochure étudie trois aspects de l'analyse démographique présentant un intérêt pour les planificateurs de l'éducation, à savoir: (1) la répartition selon l'âge et le sexe permettant au planificateur de mesurer l'importance de la population scolarisable, (2) la répartition selon le secteur d'activité économique permettant au planificateur de prévoir les besoins en main-d'oeuvre, (3) la répartition géographique qui l'aide dans le choix du type, de la dimension et de la localisation des établissements scolaires.
