Abstract
Education systems around the world are facing an unprecedented challenge in the wake of massive school closures mandated as part of public health efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19. Over 1.5 billion students at all levels are now affected by this educational disruption. In response, governments around the world have been making efforts to rapidly deliver distance education at scale in an attempt to ensure continuity in curriculum-based study and learning for all. This report provides a global overview of national educational responses to COVID-19 related school closures that may help inform measures and strategies to ensure continuity of learning in different contexts based on the information collected from UNESCO’s online survey.
