PISA 2018: insights and interpretations

Enviado por admin em
Abstract

This brochure summarises some of the initial findings from PISA 2018 and puts them into context. The full set of initial results can be found in PISA 2018 Results (Volume I): What Students Know and Can Do; PISA 2018 Results (Volume II): Where All Students Can Succeed; and PISA 2018 Results (Volume III): What School Life Means for Students’ Lives. In 2018, the focus was on reading in a digital environment; but the design of the assessment also made it possible to measure trends in reading literacy over the past two decades. PISA 2018 defined reading literacy as understanding, using, evaluating, reflecting on and engaging with texts in order to achieve one’s goals, to develop one’s knowledge and potential, and to participate in society. PISA 2018 also collected extensive data on students’ attitudes and well-being.
