Estimating the effects of a low-cost early stimulation and parenting education programme in Mexico

Submitted by admin on
Abstract

Across Latin America, particularly in Mexico, a range of programmes invest in children at an early age as these interventions reportedly have positive effects. This study examines the results of one of these programmes, the National Council for Education Development’s (CONAFE) ‘Early Education Program’ (Programa Educación Inicial or PEI), a non-formal education programme aimed at providing training to pregnant women, parents (male and female) and carers of children between 0 and 4 years old, living in highly marginalised rural communities across Mexico.
